How to Actively Build Inclusion in Our Ministries

How To Actively Build Inclusion In Our Ministries Through Language And Ceremony

We are fortunate to have speaker Rev. Jodi Hall on the topic of “How To Actively Build Inclusion In Our Ministries Through Language And Ceremony”

Rev Dr. Jodi Hall (she/they) will offer practical guidance on how to cultivate more inclusive officiant services for 2SLGBTQI+ communities. By educating ourselves on the historical context of fighting for marriage equity, fostering empathy toward the stigma and discrimination folks experience navigating the wedding industry, and learning the basics of inclusive, affirming terminology, you will be better equipped to offer safer services that honour all love stories. This workshop covers more than just the “why” marriage equity matters, to the HOWs of creating client encounters where 2SLGBTQI+ couples can feel welcome to live our love stories unabashedly, authentically, out loud.

Dr. Jodi Hall is an inclusive spiritual Minister and has been a member of CIMM since 2018. Other than their ministry duties, Jodi is a full-time professor, teaching and researching on the topics of trauma, social exclusion, death and dying, and reproductive justice. Since inception, Jodi’s primary client base of “SomthingNew” is the 2SLGBTQI+ community.
