Meet Our Speakers:
Rev. Ely Johnson
Rev. Ely Johnson brings over two decades of expertise as a Tax Preparer. Her journey started with training from H&R Block, followed by two years of experience with the company. Ely later embarked on her own practice, specializing in tax matters. Additionally, she is a self-employed Ordained Metaphysical Minister, trained as a Life Cycle Celebrant, with a special focus on commemorating life’s significant milestones, particularly weddings. Ely resides in Pritchard, BC, sharing her home with her partner, Paul, a Red Heeler, and two feline companions. Their cozy abode frequently resonates with the sounds of spontaneous guitar sessions and the aroma of delightful baking endeavours.
Rev. Leona Thorogood
Rev. Leona Thorogood initially ventured into the field of education but eventually transitioned to accounting, where she has thrived since 1983. In 1990, she achieved her CGA/CGA designation and, alongside her husband, successfully managed a public accounting firm. Despite her semi-retirement since 2016, Leona continues to work part-time in accounting, focusing on reviewing personal tax returns before they are filed with CRA. Alongside her accounting career, Leona has become an Ordained Metaphysical Minister, gaining accreditation as a Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant, specializing in officiating weddings, funerals, and other life celebrations. She currently resides near Stettler, Alberta, where her faithful pup, Bailee, keeps her company. When not immersed in her celebrant duties, you may find her honing her golf skills in the Palm Springs area or embarking on thrilling adventures.
